Moneydance 2015!

06 January 2015

With the holidays behind us, we’re thrilled to announce a major update to our favourite money management app: Moneydance 2015!. This version brings loads of new changes, but here are some highlights:

  • a completely redesigned look, including all retina/high-resolution graphics
  • a brand new storage system which fully encrypts absolutely everything (even attachments!) and allows for easy and efficient syncing of all data.
  • the option to sync all of your data via Dropbox or any shared folder*

We’re especially excited about the new syncing mechanism as it provides the ability to incrementally encrypt and sync all of your data between computers. Even if you have no need for syncing between devices or computers, the new mechanism is a fantastic way to securely and efficiently backup your Moneydance data to a location that you choose.

This update, along with our soon-to-be-announced online banking project, reflects our efforts to provide an easy way to manage your finances without sacrificing your financial privacy or the security of your online banking information.

If you purchased Moneydance 2014, then this update is completely free. Anyone who purchased an older version of Moneydance gets an immense 50% off the regular price when upgrading through the website; just a small thank you for being a loyal customer.

The option to add another computer to the peer-to-peer syncing system is will be added in late January.

iOS Developer Wanted

31 October 2014

Between Moneydance, SyncSpace and lots of client projects, we at The Infinite Kind are busier than ever and could use an additional brain in the iOS development department.

We’re looking for a creative, thoughtful iOS developer to work on our own apps as well as some external work, including the DuckDuckGo mobile apps.

You’ll get the flexibility of working from home (or your favourite cafe) as part of a friendly and experienced team. As part of our team you will write code that is used daily by millions of people. You will be given the freedom to experiment with new designs and techniques while working with other A-level developers. You can expect plenty of interesting work, a flexible environment, and a highly competitive salary.

If you know iOS and Objective-C (and preferably some other languages) inside and out and are in a timezone that is within about 5 hours of GMT then please get in touch. If you’re already a current Moneydance or SyncSpace user, please let us know in your email.

Note: we’re not looking for contractors/freelance at the moment, so please only contact us if you’re looking for a full-time permanent position.

About The Infinite Kind

Founded in 1999, The Infinite Kind has created two highly rated apps, Moneydance and SyncSpace, while consulting on many interesting external projects. Our focus is moving towards more internal development, however we will take on some interesting external projects.

SyncSpace is a unique and graphically rich application which allows users to express visual ideas collaboratively and in real-time. It allows 100% vector-based sketches and diagrams to be shared in real time, posted to Facebook/Twitter and emailed using PNGs or high resolution PDF files.

Moneydance is a cross-platform desktop personal finance manager with an iOS companion. It provides the ability to manage online banking and bill payments, track accounts, review budgets and optimise investments.

We’re extra excited about today’s updates to SyncSpace and SketchTo! If you’ve got an iPhone 6 or 6+ then you’ll find this update makes great use of the larger screen, turning the phone that you’ve always got with you into an even more usable canvas. It’s perfect for collaborating on ideas with others or just simply sketching out your own private plans for world domination.

Even if you haven’t got one of the new jumbo-sized screens, you can use our new Today widget (on iOS 8). This widget gives you fantastically quick access to recent sketches, as well as a shortcut to create a new sketch.

We’ve even redesigned the flow of both apps to provide both quick access to your previous drawings and a set of new-drawing shortcuts. Your list of previous drawings is now sorted to show the most recently opened sketches at the top. When tapping the new-sketch button you’ll see shortcuts to do things like draw on the most recently taken photo (or screenshot), draw on a web page or map, choose a photo from your library, or to just draw on a blank canvas.

All of these new features have been designed to make both SyncSpace and SketchTo as effortless and easy to use as possible. Our goal is to provide apps that get out of your way while providing functions that make your life easier every day.

We’re happy to announce the 2014.5 update to Moneydance, now available to download for all platforms! This is our fifth update of the year and continues to polish and improve Moneydance 2014 while we work on some big changes for 2015.

screenshow_newtxn Today we’ve not just one announcement, but two! It’s exciting times at The Infinite Kind.

First up, we’ve given the iOS version of Moneydance a much needed facelift. We’ve recognised for some time now that we’ve been neglecting Moneydance’s mobile offspring, and sat down a couple of months ago with a single goal of rectifying that. It was decided early on in the process that we needed to embrace iOS 7’s new visual language, and we’re definitely happy with how things turned out; no screen has been left untouched.

Moneydance IconIt also became apparent as we worked through the redesign that the existing icon looked, well, a little dated, so we enlisted some outside help who have really delivered with the spiffy new icon. The last thing we’d like to say on this release is that whilst it may only appear to be a visual change, we’ve actually made a large number of improvements under-the-hood which will allow us to deliver bigger updates more frequently moving forward; so watch this space.

screenshot_nexus5And now, the big announcement. This is HUGE. We are super excited to be able to announce the immediate release of Moneydance for Android. It’s okay, feel free to take a moment for that to sink in, we understand! An Android version of Moneydance is something that’s often been requested, and we’re really happy to finally be able to deliver on that request.

Just as with the new iOS version, we’ve worked really hard to develop an app that not only looks great, but feels right at home on the platform whilst still making transaction entry a cinch. And whilst this may only be version 1.0, don’t think for one minute that it is a second class citizen to the iOS app; we plan to have feature parity for both mobile versions. We can’t wait to hear what you think!

I’m delighted to announce the fourth update to Moneydance 2014, now available on the Mac App Store and for direct download for all platforms.

This update is labeled 2014.4 and is intended to resolve problems and fix bugs rather than introduce any new features. It includes the following changes:
